Line Rider Has Been Sold

Bostjan Cadez, the creator of Line Rider, has sold rights of the game to inXile Entertainment, a gaming company from California.

Together, they have launched the official web site for Line Rider. inXile wants to develop versions of the game for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS systems.

The company and Cadez will split the proceeds from the game, which is expected to be available next spring. The OC Register has an article about the sale.

Official Update - Beta 2 Released!

The official update of line rider has finally been released! A new website has been set up for it at: http://www.official-linerider.com/

The new features include:
- an eraser
- acceleration lines
- scenery lines
- a flag tool to remember the position of the rider

This should make the videos much more intricate!

i didnt add the line drawing tool on purpose because i wanted it to be a freehand thing so it would involve some skill like any other good toy. i dint want to add the eraser because of the same reason and because i thought it would resemble life more. if you make a mistake its there, if its to big you have to start over

hmm, i gues i should give him a name right now:D. ill call him Dude for now, even though its the lamest name:) (reminds me of big lebovski with his passivenes)

i did not want to say l will never add the extra tools:) i just explained why they werent there in the first place.

and i can tell you that the update is coming really soon. for real this time:)

Line Rider Tip: Escalator

Here I will show you how to build an "escalator". This lets the Line Rider actually sled uphill! Watch this video:

To create an escalator, draw a straight line (See my straight line tip) from where you want the bottom of the escalator to be to where you want the top to be. Now you want to draw a second line. This line will start just a little above the top of the escalator and end at the bottom. This line will need to be parallel to the first line, just a little above the first line. The key is to get the gap between the two line just right. Too thin and the Line Rider will get killed going into it, too thick and the escalator trick won't work. I find that I often have to draw several line to get it just right.

There is a new game - PaintBall that is similar to Line Rider. In this you draw lines to change the direction of a bouncing ball.

I personally don't find it as interesting as Line Rider, but some of you might enjoy it.
